	Description:		Last fall, wildfires burned across 7 counties in Northern California in October, killing 44 people and burning close to 9,000 structures. It was a series of stories KCBS covered extensively--and, now, this year, from the Oregon border and into California firefighters are battling hot temperatures and windy conditions. Tens of thousands of acres have burned across the state since January 1, 2018 of this year. Fire statistics suggest this is shaping up to be a particularly bad "fire year." To discuss fires, their impacts, and how to live in our climate-changing world and what can we expect in the future, KCBS reporters Jeffrey Schaub and Margie Shafer hosted In Depth, a discussion with J. Keith Gilless, Professor of Forest Economics & Dean Emeritus, College of Natural Resources, University of California, Berkeley.
