Two friends in Pune have given a fresh voice to Hindi poetry. Noticing how poetry in English is suddenly becoming popular in India, while our rich heritage of Hindi and Urdu remains forgotten, they formed something called Mansarovar Project. They pick a famous poem, compose original music to the recitation, and make a short film around it. Their YouTube channel is giving form to this wonderful creativity. Here they talk about how this started, and they also recite two great Hindi poems for us!
