Description:

Alex Genadinik started off going to college, but quickly was lured into all the cool stuff happening in Silicon Valley in the late nineties. Forget college, I'm going to go work for a tech startup. So, he set out to do just that. He was making good money, had stock options, so why bother with college? Then the tech company he worked for was bought. He saw the creators of the company make millions, while he made only a small amount of money. Then he realized he was on the wrong side of the company. He wanted to start his own. Armed with his technical and computer programming knowledge, and some innovative product ideas, he set out to do just that. But there was only one problem. While he had computer and programming knowledge, he didn't have business or marketing knowledge. Specific knowledge of a subject area is great, but by itself doesn't make a business. A successful business is a pairing of some knowledge with solid business and marketing expertise. In the end, Alex has created a successful mobile app business. He was successful because he simply kept at it day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, refusing to give up. He had some false starts, which could have been avoided with some simple knowledge and guidance. But don't worry. If you listen to this show, you'll find out what they are and how to avoid them! On this episode of the “How to Quit Working Show” Alex is going to share the simple ideas that made him successful as well as: • Why SEO isn't worth your time anymore and a better way to get traffic with less effort. • Four critical elements that every marketing effort must have. • Why people asking you the same question over and over again is a boon for your business.
