She is a widely sought speaker and preacher on the topics of mental health and faith, sexual violence and church responses, liberation theologies, and religious pluralism. An ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and priestess of Obatala and Osun in traditional Yoruba religion, Coleman has earned degrees at Harvard University, Vanderbilt University and Claremont Graduate University.
