In the 13th episode of the Historic Performance Podcast, I interview Hugo Langton. Hugo is the owner of Langton Football Services, which provides opposition scouting courses & scouts to clubs throughout England. Also, he is formerly a 1st team coach for Bromley FC. Many times semi-professional football gets overlooked in England. However, as Hugo points out the quality is quite good since you have former international & professional players as well as former academy prospects playing at this level. Nevertheless, there are unique challenges in working with soccer players that have another full-time job. In this episode, Hugo covers opposition scouting reports, the challenges of working with semi-professional soccer players, tactical periodization, and his thoughts on the importance of technical coaches understanding the physical demands of the game.
