In the 51st episode of the Historic Performance Podcast, I interview Ben Rosen & Mark Read of Malmo FF. Ben is the 1st Team Fitness Coach & Mark is the Academy Fitness Coach at Malmo FF. Since the onset of the podcast, the primary focus of the podcast has been soccer. Throughout the past 50 episodes, I have predominately interviewed soccer fitness coaches & sport scientists working in the United States or the United Kingdom. After coming across the work that both Ben & Mark are doing at Malmo via their Instagram accounts, I knew that I had to bring them on the podcast. In many ways, they are innovative and thinking outside of the box from using Triphasic programming with their U-19s to creating a specific strength training curriculum for goalkeepers. In this episode, Ben & Mark talk about soccer cultural difference between Sweden & the UK, triphasic training, goalkeeper specific strength training, & the Malmo Academy's 3 Stage Strength Pathway.
