In the 55th episode of the Historic Performance Podcast, I interview Dr. Jon Bartlett. Dr. Bartlett is a Sport Science Research Fellow at Victoria University and a Sport Scientist for the Western Bulldogs. His research interests include concurrent training, sleep, and nutrition. While obtaining his PhD in Exercise Metabolism & Nutrition from Liverpool John Moores University, he worked both at Liverpool FC and the English Football Association as an Exercise Scientist. In both roles, he provided nutrition, monitoring, and recovery support. In this episode, Dr. Bartlett talks about sleep research, the relationship between sleep & athletic performance, the reliability of sleep wristbands, and practical tips to optimize sleep.
