Description:

In the 58th episode of the Historic Performance Podcast, I interview Dr. Brandon Marcello. Dr. Marcello is a high performance consultant whose current clients include the United States Department of Defense, Oakland Raiders, Atlanta Braves, San Jose Sharks, and the Chinese Olympic Committee.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Marcello served as the Director of Sports Performance at Stanford University where he oversaw 36 intercollegiate sports. During his tenure at Stanford, he created the highly-acclaimed Performance Based Dining concept, which was featured in Sports Illustrated. Before becoming the Director of Sports Performance at Stanford, he co-founded Athletes Performance (EXOS) with Mark Verstegen and served as the Director of Performance for USA Softball.

In this episode, Dr. Marcello talks about why Calories are an archaic form of energy measurement, handling team nutrition while on the road, and his thoughts about various supplements for enhanced sports performance.
