In the 61st episode of the Historic Performance Podcast, I interview Ryan Faer. Ryan is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at DeLand High School in Florida. Ryan graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. Following his graduation, he worked for both the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets as a Strength & Conditioning Coach. Throughout this process, his passion and goal was to create one of the first public high school strength & conditioning programs in Florida at his alma mater, DeLand High School, where he had served as a sport coach with their varsity baseball team while attending university. This finally came to fruition this summer. In this episode, Ryan talks about starting a high school strength & conditioning program, the importance of building relative strength, and nutrition for the high school athlete.
