Description:

In the 67th episode of the Historic Performance Podcast, I interview Allan Macdonald. Allen is the Strength & Conditioning Coach for Great Britain Judo.

For the past several years, Allan has worked as the Lead Strength & Conditioning Coach for British Judo. British Judo has never been widely respected within the sport for their technical abilities. As such, they have focused since the previous London Olympics to establish a positive quality about them. The quality of emphasis over the last years has been to be the strongest & best conditioned Judo athletes in the world, which led them to have better overall success in Rio.

In this episode, Allan talks about deterministic modelling + rate limiters, judo-specific strength assessments, and energy system development using Dr, Anatoliy Bondarchuk's exercise classification model.
