In the 77th episode of the Historic Performance Podcast, I interview Dr. Carlos Balsalobre. Dr. Balsalobre is a sport scientist at the European University of Madrid. Dr. Balsalobre's main interests are strength training and performance testing for elite athletes as well as sports technology. He has a PhD. and two MSc. in High Performance in Sports and has authored several scientific papers found in peer-review journals. He has worked with top-level basketball players, martial artists, fencers and sprinters. He is very passionate about the use of wearable technologies to measure human movement and as such has developed various iOS applications, such as PowerLift, Runmatic and MyJump. In this episode, Dr. Balsalobre talks about the development of his iOS applications, the potential uses of the applications within high performance sport, and the validity and reliability studies conducted on all three iOS apps.
