Podcast Highlights

Funny Story

“We were having a spring Florida weather, so everybody came dressed for a beach-sunny day. Short dresses, short sleeves. But it ended up being cold as cold can be. 50-something degrees, raining and gray. Everybody was shivering and keeping close for body heat”

Stressful moment:

“I didn’t want flowers at the beginning, so 4 days before I ordered them from NYC. They sent the flowers 2 days before. But I made the vases myself with clear pearls, that dried out all the flowers the day before the wedding.” – Ended up buying them from a truck outside the house. $60 dollars in her actual flowers, while the $400+ on her original idea went out the drain.

Lesson: Eventually things will find a way. Either you want it or not, the show must go on. “If I had to walk down the isle w/o flowers I would have said yes anyways”

Best decision: A photo Booth. “My husband was against it, but we ended up wining one at a bridal show, and to this day he still says was one of the best things.”

Regret: “I would have hired a wedding coordinator for the reception, vs relying on the venue’s one.”

Budget advice: “I had some non-negotiable like live music. So we cut down the people to give them great music. But together we decided on spending just enough so we can actually have a -heck of a honeymoon-.”

What would you do differently: “Hire a coordinator and have more space on the dress. (I couldn’t breath!)”

Vendors: “I found many of my vendors at a wedding show. Also at weddingwire.com”

Planners and apps:  WeddingWire.com

Marriage advice: “You have to be patient with everything… Just close your eyes and say: this shall pass too.”
