Episode 16
“I did have the perfect wedding”
They don’t take each small things so seriously. That’s the key to their relationship and what made their wedding a major success.
Matt, who works in PR, is [greek] from Rhode Island. Josie, who works in fashion, is from the Dominican Republic. But after meeting over 4 years ago in NY, they knew there was something special.
Josie might seem shy on episode 16th of the Hey Bride Podcast… but trust me on this one (and on some of the pictures), she’s a hoot!
Podcast Highlights
Funny Story
-[early in the day] They married at a [open] golf course, and some guests got into golf carts and started driving with drinks in hands.
-[late at night] After everything was over, new husband Matt found out he left his contact solution at his groom suite, and went walking in his underwear looking for it. Granted the groomsmen where there, and got everything on video.
Stressful moment:
Narrowing down the guest list. Coming from 2 big families and having a huge amount of friends and limited space, she thought for a second on eloping. After narrowing down, the sad part was that a few confirmed guests didn’t make it last minute. Spots that another person could have used.
Best decision: The Groom! – [Kidding]… the personalized vows.
Regret: Taking so much DIY in her hands to later realize the majority of stationary goes to the trash or some people don’t even notice were hand made with love.
Budget advice: Their main thing was having fun at the wedding, which for them meant: Open Bar, Great Food and great photos and video to remember. The rest fell into place.
What would you do differently: Make sure the wedding dance floor was different material.
Vendors: After setting up the budget for each vendor, she started researching reviews and prices, trying no to go over budget even if it was a dream vendor.
Planners and apps: TheKnot.com’s budget calculator was a major help.
Marriage advice: “Don’t take small details so seriously and laugh a lot.”
