From ages 8-12, she helped her parents manage motels, often by taking charge of the front desk. She's now published the kids' book "Front Desk," which was inspired by her own experiences. And, the small town of Abita Springs, Louisiana, is on an ambitious track to switch to 100 percent renewable energy.
