What can your past habits, attachments, and behaviors tell you about how you relate to life? For me, taking a look at my past gives me so many insights and tools which I can use in my life today. One area which has proven to be a rich source of lessons, is my previous attachment to weed (marijuana). In my late teens and early twenties, I had a daily weed habit. What started out as something I’d do for fun with friends, turned into a daily pull that left me feeling guilty, judgmental, and gave me an excuse to isolate myself from friends and loved ones. Now, it’s important I stress that it wasn’t the weed that did this, IT WAS MY RELATIONSHIP TO IT. I 100% own the role that I played in all of this, and that I willingly used weed as a crutch. I know there are tons of people out there who use weed responsibly and have healthy relationship to it. I would count myself as one of those people in the beginning (shoot, I may even be one of those people today if I took it up again!) But back when my attachment was at it’s peak, I certainly did not have a healthy relationship with weed. In this episode I’m walking you through my entire relationship with weed. From the beginnings, to when it became my preferred substance for enhancement/escape, to when it became something I chose over real relationships with people, to when I quit cold turkey, and to my relationship today. My hope with this episode is that we can all take lessons from how I used and experienced weed, and that we can apply those lessons to create the results and experiences in our lives moving forward! |
