Keith L Brown is the first guest on The Hair Artist Academy Podcast. Keith was my teacher and mentor in high school and had a major impact on my life.

I couldn’t think of a better person to be the first guest on my show. I wouldn’t have the drive, tenacity and perseverance today had it not been for his motivation and encouragement during some of the toughest years of my life . . . my teens.

Growing up I would consider myself socially inept. I didn’t have a ton of friends and pretty much stayed to myself. Keith helped me build my confidence and find my voice.

As my drama coach he taught me how to hold my head up high and command a presence when I walked on stage.

That stage is synonymous with life.

Each day we go out into the world, on our jobs or in the boardroom we are walking on stage.

We are being judged on our performance, talked about, criticized and scrutinized. Keith taught me to stare criticism in the face and stand in dignity and confidence because I am a queen and that’s what queens do.

From special ed student to teacher, speaker, and award winning author he continues to inspire the masses and I hope you gain some inspiration from this interview.

It’s not often that one gets to thank the teachers that positively influenced their life. I’m happy I had the opportunity to do so. Thank you Keith!
