Lowering attrition in BJJ

Category: Sports & Recreation
Duration: 01:13:15
Publish Date: 2019-12-19 00:00:00
Description:

The boys talk about the attrition rate of beginners in Jiu Jitsu and a few ways we might be able to mitigate that.

If you’re a gym owner looking at how to possibly get more people to commit to the sport, this is a good episode for you.

Paul Elliot from simplebjj.com wrote an article, that we destroy on the podcast about ways to ensure you get the most amount of people you can to make it past the initial sticking point in the gym.

Beyond that however, we all only get better if we have people to train with. So it’s in all of our best interests to see to it that as many people stick it out as possible.

Paul has some clever ideas on how you can make the transition from noob right through the door to full time BJJ practitioner.

Some of the things you may be doing already, and some maybe not. We may as well make use of as many of the ideas as we can. The more people we can help, the better.

Just like Jiu Jitsu changed your life, try and make sure others feel welcomed so they stick it out long enough for it to change theirs.

And if you’re new, this episode might get you over that hump as well. No matter the reason you decided to try, it’s undoubtedly helped someone else in that very same manner. Plus, all the additional benefits you didn’t even know about yet.

So, if you’re new, stick around awhile. If you’re a veteran, help somebody feel welcome enough to want to stick around long enough to reap the benefits like you did.
