understand their traffic and provide statistics to their users.
About Emily
Emily Melhuish is an Electrical Engineering student by day and a
software developer by night. She works at Trade Me as a Full Stack developer in between studying
at the University of Auckland where she learns how to blow circuits up.
At Trade Me, her latest project was one surrounding Big Data and how to make the website data useful
for their clients. They use Google Tag Manager with
Google Analytics and BigQuery
to provide business insights to our customers, these include real estate agents and car dealers.
Her work was for car dealers.
About Lester
Lester Litchfield is a data scientist and web analyst for
Trade Me with a background in Marketing. He’s responsible for implementing
Google Tag Manager and
Google Analytics Premium across their sites
and apps, and using that data to tell the story of how their users behave. He uses
BigQuery most weeks to answer tough questions, and for AB testing.
He’s also exploring Google Cloud Platform for text analysis, image analysis and machine learning applications.
