http://www.supportrealteachers.org Dr. Cathrine Himberg, "I started CASPER in 1998 because I was frustrated about seeing so many inappropriate practices being used in physical education classes. Over the years many of my graduate students helped improve our website; and when Kevin Shephard came on board in 2008 the site expanded and improved and we kept adding more and more great tools and resources to help support REAL teachers of quality physical education. My day job is as a professor of Kinesiology at California State University – Chico. I teach future physical education teachers, as well as dance and yoga for the general student population. I love what I do, and hope that my passion for physical activity along with the skills and concepts I teach help my students find their own craving for being physically active, reap all the benefits, and teach others what they learn! I was born and raised in Norway, and came to the US at age 19 to go to college. I earned a BS from East Carolina University in Communications, a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Chico State, and my PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from Virginia Tech." Cathrine Himberg received the 2015-2016 Outstanding Professor Award from CSU Chico. See more at: www.supportrealteachers.org
