Dennis Docheff is the interim chair of the Department of Nutrition & Kinesiology at the University of Central Missouri. A SHAPE America member since 1985, Dennis began his teaching career in a 5th grade self-contained classroom; he also coached three sports. Some of his other experiences include being an elementary school principal, a middle school teacher and athletic director, a high school teacher and counselor, a college professor, and a three-year stint in the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military at West Point. Professional service has always been central to Dennis’ work. Serving on committees at all levels, reviewing manuscripts for numerous publications, and promoting professional service to students have created some of Dennis’ fondest professional memories. He has made over 250 professional presentations at the state, district, and national level, and has contributed more than 130 publications. Highlights of Dennis’ service include serving as a member of the SHAPE America Board of Directors, serving as President of the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), serving as President for the Central District Association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD), and receiving the AAHPERD Honor Award. Judy LoBianco, supervisor of Health, Physical Education and Nursing Services for South Orange-Maplewood School District in New Jersey, has been a SHAPE America member since 1988, Serving more than 6,600 students in the nine schools of South Orange-Maplewood School District, she is responsible for high school scheduling, curriculum development, equipment and program purchases and staff professional development. In addition Judy was responsible for securing two million Carol M. White PEP grants in 2009 and 2013. Throughout her career, Judy has held leadership positions on numerous projects, including serving on the NASPE Convention Committee where she reviewed dozens of proposals for the annual AAHPERD National Convention. At the state level she served as President of the New Jersey Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NJAHPERD), from 2008-2009. In 2013 she served as President of the Eastern District of AAHPERD which represents 13 states from Maryland to Maine, including the District of Columbia, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. She currently serves as a member at large to the SHAPE America Board of Directors. Among her awards she is recipient of the Everett L. Hebel Award and the Channing Mann Award which both recognize excellence in administration and supervision in physical education. Earlier this year the South Orange-Maplewood School District received a Let’s Move! Active Schools National Recognition Award.
