BTCS was there at the beginning of the Blockchain space—before the Blockchain space was even a space. “We’re actually the first public company focused on Bitcoin and Blockchain technologies. We’ve been around since 2013,” says BTCS CEO Charles Allen. Since then, it’s been an interesting journey. Over the years, BTCS has changed, grown, evolved.

BTCS started as an e-commerce site: the first place you could buy physical goods on the Internet with Bitcoin. After going public, BTCS made some strategic investments in other Bitcoin businesses, expanding. At the end of 2016, they were mining Bitcoin.
