John Baker, M.S.C. founded the cloud-based learning platform company D2L in 1999 with the belief learning was at the heart of solving many of the biggest challenges in the world. Baker was awarded the Meritorious Service Cross in 2017 -- earned for his work to advance learning across the country and around the world. Baker has also won the Top 40 Under 40 in Waterloo Region in 2009.
