Description: The Norwegian banking crisis of the early 1990s has been named among the “Big Five” banking crises of the advanced economies after World War 2 (Reinhart and Rogoff, 2009). What caused this major crisis? And how was it solved? To help us out answering these questions we have invited Bjørm Skogstad Aamo - the long-time head of the Norwegian financial surveillance authorities and (during the crisis), state secretary and lead advisor to the then Norwegian prime minister, Gro Harlem Brundtand.
