Protected food names post-Brexit, earth worms, winberries, drying rivers

Category: Science & Medicine
Duration: 00:13:44
Publish Date: 2018-08-08 00:00:00
Description: British farmers could lose important trade in Europe unless the government gets the right Brexit deal on 'protected food names' like Welsh Lamb and Scotch Beef. We hear from a soil scientist on how earth worms are coping with the dry weather, and visit the River Usk where water levels are unhealthily low. It's winberry picking season. The small purply black fruit often grows on moorland and is more commonly known as a bilberry and sometimes called a whortleberry. Presented by Caz Graham and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
