Post-Brexit trade, Getting outside, Robotics on farms

Category: Science & Medicine
Duration: 00:11:17
Publish Date: 2018-06-11 00:02:00
Description: A new survey suggests up to half of us would rather stay indoors than brave a walk in cold, wet, muddy conditions - and nearly a third of us wouldn't bother venturing outside if the view wasn't worth posting on social media! Charlotte Smith talks to Linking Environment and Farming (LEAF) who commissioned the poll. A new report from environmental think tank Green Alliance, in partnership with the Food and Nature Task Force, claims future trade policy to cut food prices would threaten food quality and undermine farming in the UK. Anna Jones discusses the findings and asks whether blocking cheaper food imports is the best deal for consumers. And in the first of a series of reports looking at robotic technology on farms, Charlotte talks drones, blimps and balloons with Professor Bruce Grieve from the University of Manchester. Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Anna Jones.
