Description: Are we more at risk from food crime as a result of leaving the EU? The government is delaying full implementation of paperwork inspections on food and live animals coming into the UK from the EU until next January, and considering a ‘lighter touch’ to border checks. There are concerns that easing the regulations could play into the hands of food fraudsters, who might try to palm off cheap and below-standard goods as above-board, and send them into the UK. The charity Bug Life say they have evidence that ITV's programme I'm a Celebrity... used invasive crayfish, and that no license was issued for their use. All this week we're looking at the hungry gap, that in-between time of year when the winter crops have finished, but the spring produce hasn't yet begun. One of the easier, but more expensive solutions, is to grow under glass. We hear about cucumbers being grown almost year round in Kent. Presented by Anna Hill and produced by Beatrice Fenton. And I'm a Celebrity's invasive crayfish.
