Description: The budget is getting a mixed reception from rural groups, with a welcome for the help offered to many countryside businesses but concern that rural areas may miss out on some government grants. We hear from Visit Britain and the Rural Services Network. Researchers are investigating to see if the bacteria and viruses found in chicken manure could be used to assess the health and welfare of the birds. And we continue our week-long focus on gene editing: a group of scientists believes the process could help food security in developing countries, by producing crops that are resistant to drought and disease. Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
