Description: The price farmers get for wool is likely to fall. British wool is warning that because of the coronavirus disruption, it still has significant amounts of lasts year’s wool left and so won’t be paying as much for this year’s fleeces. Around 40,000 sheep farmers sell their wool to the international textile industry for use in flooring, furnishings and clothing, but because of the lockdowns across the world the market has been disrupted, with less demand, particularly from China. We hear from Phil Stocker, chief executive of the National Sheep Association. Presented by Charlotte Smith and produced by Beatrice Fenton.
