Charlotte Smith asks what it will mean for farming, fishing and the environment. A new experimental system for analysing the environmental impact of agricultural activity has just opened at the National Agri-Food Innovation Campus near York. It's called a mesocosm, and might offer a better way of testing the real impact of new chemicals on the environment.
