The Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) has been approved for $50 million in state funding to begin the environmental studies to extend the Interstate 15 Express Lanes from Cajalco Road in Corona to State Route 74 in Lake Elsinore.

RCTC Deputy Executive Director John Standiford says it will take about 5 years for the environmental impact study to be completed.

This project will be the next step to the current project underway in that area that includes widening the I-15 freeway North of Cajalco Road.
