	Description:		Riverside County Adult Protective Services (APS) handles more than 20,000 calls of abuse and neglect to the APS hotline annually. However, the rate of abuse is estimated to be much higher than this. As many as 1 in 10 older adults are abused or neglected each year, and only 1 in 14 cases comes to the attention of authorities. Michaela Williams, Senior Community Program Specialist for Riverside County Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) came on the program to about what Riverside County is doing to combat the problem and what you should do if you suspect elder abuse.
