In this very inspiring lecture at Kol Israel Achim, Rav Dror Moshe Cassouto talks about how to feel the love of God in our daily lives. Sometimes, in today's day and age, we are so caught up and distracted, that we forget that God is doing everything. God gave us running water, and chairs to sit on, and the ability to fly to different countries, and talk to people across the globe. Hashem (God) did this because of his incredible love for us. In today's generation, God doesn't expect us to be super righteous like in the olden day, and to mimic the extremely holy and pious tzaddikim of the past. He wants us to be good, kind, sensitive people, just like he is. It's the small things that count. We may see something as spiritually small, but to God, it is a very valuable action. We don't see the fruits of our labor, what merit giving a 5 dollar bill to charity has, and how much merit we receive for studying just one page of torah, or even just one verse. We imagine to ourselves that we need to be openly righteous giants and impressive pillars of faith, but really God looks at all of our small actions, and cherishes each mitzvah, each act of kindness. By being kind and warm, and bringing our brothers and sisters back in teshuva (repentance), we are able to preform years and years of holy service in such a small amount of time, because all of that persons actions count for us. So we need to work on being kind, work on valuing the small things we do, and work and having a positive spiritual influence on all of the precious souls that are around us. To pray for our friends, and to help them when we can.
