Author: Michael Hunt, MD Educational Pearls: - Current goal is to prevent patients from becoming hyperthermic, replacing former thinking of making patients hypothermic.
- Things we know: Cooling seems to be helpful, patients with V-fib/V-tach do better than those with PEA, internal vs. external cooling show no clinical differences, and there is no benefit to prehospital hypothermia protocols.
- Temperature goal is to keep patients under 37 degrees.
