Description: Bill is the overall leader for PayPal's Global Consumer Engineering, Venmo Engineering, Identity Product & Engineering and the Next Gen Commerce team.    The Consumer & Venmo Engineering organizations create the full range of global consumer experiences & services across both mobile (Venmo and PayPal app) and web (wallet, p2p, marketing, onboarding, paypal.com). The Identity organization defines the strategy & builds the solutions for PayPal Identity. Flagship product is One Touch. The Next Gen Commerce is a small cross-functional team (product, design & engineering) that births new product solutions for contextual commerce and financial solutions.    Prior to this, Bill led global Merchant Engineering, Payment Products and UI Engineering at PayPal.   Bill is co-author of the O'Reilly book Designing Web Interfaces and a frequent speaker at conferences & workshops. Prior to PayPal, he led & established the UI Engineering practice at Netflix. He & his team built the Netflix experience for the web & the first HTML5 TV experiences.   Bill led both experience & engineering at Meebo, spent time consulting for startups and large enterprises doing everything usability to wireframing, to writing lots of JavaScript code to presenting business strategy ideas to CEOs.   At Yahoo!, Bill led Y! Teachers, a web 2.0 community allowing teachers to gather, organize & share web resources. In addition, as Y! Ajax Evangelist he spread the gospel of "rich and sane" Ajax design & development. He also participated in aspects of the YUI library and as Design Pattern curator launched the public Yahoo! Design Pattern Library. He also co-wrote one of first JavaScript Ajax libraries (Rico).    For 30 years Bill has focused on roles in both engineering & design: creating products in areas as diverse as video games, war gaming, IDE tools, airline management and Web consumer sites & apps.
