Description: Laine Campbell is SVP of Engineering at Fastly. Over her 19 year career, she has specialized in distributed and high traffic databases, operations and reliability and building large distributed teams for some of the largest infrastructures in the world. Highlights of her career include being Travelocity’s chief database architect, working on the datastores for the Obama for America Campaign in ’12 and founding, building and eventually selling her 40 person database consultancy, PalominoDB. Laine is also the principal author of the O’Reilly book, Database Reliability Engineering. Laine is passionate about democratizing access to jobs in the technical sector, building diverse teams and supporting underrepresented groups in achieving success in tech.
