In this super-sized episode, I'm joined by The Weird Teacher himself, Doug Robertson. Doug is a 5th grade (soon to be 4th grade) teacher and an author of four books. In our wide ranging conversation, we touch on the importance of student teacher/mentor teacher relationships, grammar, makerspaces, and how Doug came to be called The Weird Teacher and how that relates to his habits of bucking the norm. Doug also gets into his habit of breaking things to make them work better (or at least in unexpected ways). We don't stop there, though. Doug and I get into music, movies, the importance of exposing yourself to challenging material, and finally, we land on Twitter: we discuss what's great about it and what's broken. There's a lot to go over in this one, but it's all fantastic, so buckle up, plug in, and join us for a great conversation!
