Description: Takeuchi was a key contributor to the lithium/SVO battery system that is still used to power the majority of life-saving implantable cardiac defibrillators. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and received the National Medal of Technology and Innovation in 2009. Takeuchi joined ECS in 1984 and served as president from 2011-2012.
