	Description:		I am a journalist by profession having started my work as a Hansard Reporter in Parliament where I served between 1978 to 1991, having risen through the ranks to a sub-editor. In this tenure I benefited from professional training in London in 1986 under the auspices of the Central Office of Information. The news and editorial course was sponsored by the British Council. I was also extensively trained at the Kenya Polytechnic and the Kenya Institute of Administration on a wide range of areas from introduction to law, commerce, economics, communication, administration, among others. I resigned and joined the Society magazine in 1991 to follow my passion for democracy advocacy at the height of political intolerance in.Kenya. Shortly after joining the then boldest publication in Kenya, which boasted of having carried the first colour cartoon of President Moi on its front cover, and which boldly took up the fight against corruption and bad governance, and hailing the wind of democracy that was sweeping Eastern Europe, the whole editorial team of the Society magazine was arrested and detained in several police stations before being transported to Mombasa and eventually detained at the Shimo La Tewa Maximum security prison. The frivolous nature of the sedition charges led to the prolonged appearance in court monthly for almost two years before the government dropped the charges citing the infamous Section 87(a) that stated investigations would continue and one could be arrested when such investigations were completed. I later served in various democracy advocacy institutions, amongst them the Democratic Foundation and the Education Centre for Women in Democracy as well as taking part in the formative NCEC.I was re-enlisted back to the Democratic Party of Kenya secretariat in 2010 as Executive Director. Am a born again Christian.
