Have you ever gone through a clinical rotation where your CI evaluates patients in like 15 minutes, and it takes you nearly an hour and a half to do the same thing? Plus you still get it wrong.... Haha I have been there before...plenty of times. But I learned that "having more experience" isn't the best answer for why I seemingly suck at evaluating patients. It's not that... It is the fact that my CI was able to recognize a set of patterns which guided him/her to the right answer quickly. The NPTE is no different. You can take the NPTE 5 times and still not be quick at answering questions. It isn't about experience but pattern recognition. My question to you is, are you studying in a way that is setting you up to recognition patterns? No? Well, listen to today's podcast as I explain this critical skill for NPTE success.
