Description: Juliet Beyler, Acting Director, Officer and Enlisted Personnel Management, will discuss the creation of DOD's new Distinguished Warfare Medal, which will be awarded to recognize a service member's extraordinary achievements directly impacting combat operations since Sept. 11, 2001. The Distinguished Warfare Medal will be awarded in the name of the Secretary of Defense to members of the military whose extraordinary achievements directly impacted combat operations, but did not involve valor.
