The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meet Tuesday (12/16) at 10:00 in the city of San Bernardino, and the agenda contains some surprising sewer news for residents of Joshua Tree.
Tucked down on page 42 of the 46 page agenda for the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting is #131 on the Consent Calendar, where the Board will be authorizing an allocation of just over 31 million dollars for Third District projects and contracts. $20,230,000 of that will be for “intersection improvements” at Yucca Trail and La Contenta Road, Alta Loma and Sunny Vista, Alta Loma and Park Boulevard, and Highway 62 at Sunset Road – with that last intersection having traffic signals and sidewalks installed.
There is also two million dollars earmarked for Pioneertown bathrooms and flood control on Mane Street. It also lists bathrooms and a parking and trash enclosure for downtown Joshua Tree.
Also planned for downtown Joshua Tree: a “Joshua Tree Sewer Infrastructure Project” which is expected to receive $6.3 million for:
- district formation
- local agency formation commission proceedings
- site acquisition
- planning
- design
- water board permitting
- environmental assessment
