The Tourism Business Improvement District meeting announced the Events which have been granted sponsorships for their Events next season. Annelies Kuiper brings us details:

This meeting was held for the purpose of announcing the events that have been allocated sponsorships or grants for next year’s tourist attracting venues. There were five applications for sponsorships and three for grants.

Sponsorships:

  • Mojave Experience requested funding of $3,000, which was fully funded.
  • 29 Palms 10 Minute Play Festival requested funding of $1,500, and was full funded.
  • High Desert Comedy Campout requested funding of $3,000, it was fully funded.
  • All Summer’s Eve Desert Rendezvous requested funding of $3,000 and was partially funded at $1,500

Mojave Zine Fest requested funding of $2,700, but was not included in this round of sponsorships.

The only grant awarded was to Theater 29 for $20,000 to produce the second half of the 2025-26 season. 

It became apparent during the meeting that an insufficient amount of time had been designated to apply for these monies and the deadline was too soon to give the event holders time to apply. It was decided to extend the deadline for six weeks until the end of December so that more applicants can submit their proposals before the deadline.
