The Bighorn Desert View Water Agency held their regular meeting on Tuesday October 14th. Annelies Kuiper brings us the details:
The meeting began with a closed session to discuss the fifth amendment, which would give the Board of Directors more time to consider succession planning options regarding the extension of employment of General Manager Marina West until February 1st, 2026. In addition a performance based merit increase of approximately 7% would be added to the General Manager’s salary.
The closed session resulted in no reportable action.
The motion to accept amendment number five regarding the extension of the General Manager’s employment agreement and the addition of a 7% merit increase passed unanimously.
Directors Aldridge and Miller Boyer were selected to form the ad hoc committee to develop a management succession plan and associated organizational structure. Their first meeting is on Tuesday October 21st at 11:00 a.m.
The code of conduct for members of the Agency Board of Directors was reviewed for 2025.
The motion to pass the resolution to adopt an increased basic facilities charge for water meters from ¾ inch to 10 inches passed unanimously.. The current buy-in charge would be increased by 3.289% or by roughly $500.
The current charge for the service line installation fee for water meter size ranges from ¾ inch to 10 inches, is $2,685. This will increase to $3,040 to cover the increased cost of parts and labor. The motion passed and will be effective as of December 15th 2025.
There will be no meeting in November as the second Tuesday is Veteran’s Day. The next meeting will be on December 9th 2025.
