Description:

This fall marks 20 years of the Joshua Tree Music Festival, a milestone that highlights its deep roots and lasting influence. What began in 2003 as a grassroots gathering has grown into a cultural icon, encompassing not only entertainment but also art, healing, and environmental stewardship.

Over four days, from Thursday to Sunday, the festival will feature local, national, and international artists on multiple stages, including Madame Gandhi, Diggin’ Dirt, Psycodelics, Father TAJ, and many more.

Families are especially encouraged to visit Kidsville, the festival’s dedicated children’s and family zone. As part of the “Healing and Family” areas, Kidsville offers kid-friendly music, interactive games, creative arts, storytelling, nature walks, and wellness activities, all included with admission.

The Joshua Tree Music Festival has become a vital event for the Morongo Basin, supporting artisans, food producers, and small businesses, while building community pride. It is also highly regarded by visitors.

  • A Yelp reviewer called it “a great family-friendly event… the music is great and the hang loose atmosphere is perfect for Joshua Tree” (Yelp).
  • Festival coverage from EDM Identity praised its atmosphere: “Never have I ever felt so safe and free at a music festival. The focus on family-friendly vibes and cleanliness really elevated Joshua Tree” (EDM Identity).
  • And Visit Greater Palm Springs highlights its “intimate setting” and “family-friendly global music experience”(Visit GPS).

Sustainability is at the heart of the festival’s mission, focusing on waste reduction, eco-friendly vendors, and site-sensitive art installations essential to its operations. Organizers aim to protect the desert environment while creating a lively and immersive cultural experience.

As October 9 approaches, the desert will once again come alive with sound, art, and community. The Joshua Tree Music Festival invites you to enjoy world-class performances, family activities, and the captivating, star-lit night sky of the Joshua Tree Desert.
