A local restaurant is giving away backpacks, haircut vouchers, and even cash prizes as part of a back-to-school event this weekend.

WING-N-IT and the Ready4ReadingBookClub are hosting their third annual backpack event on Saturday (8/ 9).

Open to 7th through 12th graders, backpacks filled with school supplies will be given away, along with vouchers for haircuts and braiding and clothing from local shops. Random backpacks will contain additional prizes: two backpacks will have $100 dollar bills, four backpacks will have $25.00 Aldi’s gift cards and one backpack will have a gift card from Stater Bros. The event will also feature free music, food, and community resources. 

Local vendors will be on-hand providing career information and giveaways to help teens consider future career opportunities.

The event is at WING-N-IT, located at 72317 Twentynine Palms Highway in Twentynine Palms, and runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
