	Description:		Desert Institute staff naturalist Jon Norris will share his knowledge of the park and the native plants and animals during the hike. The hike is fairly easy, only 1.3 miles long with an elevation gain of 400feet and a panoramic view at the top.You will need water, food and snacks to be eaten in the field with no trace left behind. Closed-toed athletic shoes or hiking boots are a must, as well as sun protection gear. The hike takes off on Friday November 22 from 4.30p.m. followed by the LGBTQ+ Mixer from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Visitor’s Center. While this event is free attendees are welcome to donate to Joshua Tree National Park. Allow plenty of time to arrive at the Black Rock Nature Center meeting location, as park entrances can get very busy on weekends. So Come OUT for a fun and educational get-together in the National Park.
