Description: This month marks one year since Brett Kavanaugh was sworn in as a Supreme Court justice. A new book by two reporters at The New York Times raises questions about how the FBI conducted its background check of Kavanaugh after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct. First, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of attempting to rape her when they were both teenagers in the 1980s. Then, another woman, Deborah Ramirez, accused Kavanaugh of thrusting his penis at her during a drunken party at Yale, where they were both students, forcing her to touch it while she swatted it away. Despite widespread outrage and opposition to Kavanaugh’s nomination due to these allegations, he was confirmed to the Supreme Court by the Republican-controlled Senate. Democracy Now! recently spoke to Robin Pogrebin, co-author of the book, “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation.”
