So while at an antique store with my wife, I came across a box of comics. Amidst the too-expensive for what they were back issues, was a packet of comics that had an original price tag of $14.95 and that included a graphic novel with a cover price of $13.95 and that was priced at $5.
Of course I had to have it.
What I didn’t realize was that: a. This would be a true time machine that hit a bunch of 90s nostalgia for me, and b. This almost put me into Quarter Bin Podcast realm, with the comics coming out to $.33-ish per comic.
So of course, my podcast promo HAD to be Professor Alan’s Quarter Bin podcast. I mean, I don’t quite reach his level of thriftiness, but this package of comics that were completely new to me (even when they weren’t NEW TO ME – like Xena Warrior Princess or The X-Files – they were NEW to me) really hit the spot.
