On this episode of Collider Movie Talk (Friday December 15th, 2017) Dennis Tzeng, Perri Nemiroff, John Rocha, and Wendy Lee discuss the following: 1) X-Men/Deadpool Joining MCU Says Disney 2) James Wan Says ‘Aquaman’ Does Not Have Three Villains 3) First Poster for ‘Ocean’s 8’ Assembles a New Team 4) New ‘Deadpool 2’ Art Teases the Second Coming with Cable 5) 'John Wick' Director Tackling Ed Brubaker Comic 'Kill or Be Killed' 6) Marlon Brando Memoir Optioned by Brian Oliver for Biopic Treatment 7) Mail Bag After the monumental news broke early Thursday that Disney had purchased a sizable chunk of 21st Century Fox, talk immediately turned to the X-Men and Fantastic Four and whether they could possibly join the Avengers in a movie later on down the line. During a conference call with investors, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that the MCU will expand to include those properties including Deadpool. With Justice League in the rearview mirror, fans are now looking to next year’s Aquaman to see what else Warner Bros.’ DCEU will bring to the table. James Wan has now finished production and is on to post-production, with speculation from fans now wondering if the movie will feature three villains. This comes from casting announcements that have Patrick Wilson playing Aquaman’s half-brother Orm (aka the Ocean Master), Abdul-Mateen playing Black Manta, and Dolph Lundgren playing King Nereus. According to Wan himself, however, that’s not the case. BUY OR SELL Warner Bros. has released the first Ocean’s 8 poster for the upcoming spinoff from Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s trilogy. Hunger Games filmmaker Gary Ross directs the new film, which stars Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean, the sister of George Clooney’s Danny Ocean. The marketing for Deadpool 2 continues with star and producer Ryan Reynolds revealing a new banner on his Twitter account. Atomic Blonde’s David Leitch steps into the director’s chair this time around, with Josh Brolin as Cable and Zazie Beets’ Domino introduced to the cast. THR reports that John Wick director Chad Stahelski is reteaming with his 'Wick' producer Basil Iwanyk to adapt the Ed Brubaker comic Kill or Be Killed. The movie tells the story of a depressed college student who attempts suicide only to survive due to unlikely events. THR reports that a biopic about Marlon Brando is in the works, with Brian Oliver's New Republic Pictures optioning the memoir by George Englund entitled The Way It's Never Been Done Before.
