The Owen Paterson affair has shined a light on the extra paycheques that MPs earn on top of their £80,000 tax-funded salary. In particular Geoffrey Cox, whose outside legal work is reported to bring him in six figures on a regular basis. But is there an argument to be made for allowing elected officials to receive a second income?
